When William was baptised at St Mary's, Chepstow, in 1830, Thomas and Elizabeth were living in Hocker Hill Street. Thomas is described a a merchant's clerk. [1] [2]

The 1841 Census for England and Wales shows him living with Henry Williams and his family in Pentonville, St Woolos, Newport. His daughters Ann and Ellen are with him. [3]

Ten years later, Thomas is living in Christchurch, Newport, and his daughter Ellen is his housekeeper. Thomas is clerk to a timber merchant.[4]

He passed away on the 11th July 1862 in Hereford Street, Newport. [5] His obituary reads: July 11, at Hereford Place, Newport, Monmouthshire, aged 89, Mr Thomas Walley, deeply lamented by his family and friends.
