Biography
Mary Doris "Polly" Walling was born 24 October 1854 in White County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Jesse Walling and Susannah Roberts[1]. She passed away in 1940 at age 85.
According to the White County Tennessee Marriage License Registration book, Elijah Dykes and Polly D. Walling were married by a Justice of the Peace on August 25, 1873.[2]They had at least the following children -

Mary Doris Walling Dykes died at the age of 86 of Arteriosclerosis and Senile Psychosis. She died at the Eastern State Hospital, Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee, but her legal residence was listed as Route #3, Pikeville, Bledsoe County, Tennessee. The Certificate of Death states that Polly had been in the hospital for 11 years. The hospital was also known as the Eastern State Hospital for the Insane.[3]
Mary Doris "Polly" Walling Dykes is buried at the Walling Cemetery, Van Buren County, Tennessee, USA.[4]
