Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday April,10, 2014, in the Mount.Gilead Baptist Church for Mr. Kennie Ward Sr. 80, of Columbia,who died Monday, April 7 in Jackson. Interment was in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Bro. Ed Steele  and Bro. Justin Cameron officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday. April 9 at Colonial Funeral Home.

A native of Columbia, he was a truck driver and member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents. P.W.and Gladys Carter Ward wife, Sula Ramshur, two sisters,Beatrice Cox and Mary Blanche Sabin and twin granddaughters, Melanie and Melissa Little.

Survivors include daughters,Vicky Little[Dennis] of Columbia, son Kennie Ward jr. [Peggy] of Columbia brothers, James Ward  of Hattiesburg Bill Ward of Oak Grove and Winford Ward of Purvis, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many other friends and family. Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.    Family links:   Parents:   Pledze W.
