Obit from Freda Sullivan Tucker, as posted on Roots web Thurs. Mar. 28, 1933 Wm. Raney Ward, Patterson died early Friday morning. Born in N.C. and came with his parents to Missouri when a mere boy. He was 88 years, 5 months and 19 days old. He married first, Nancy Ownbey. Surviving are 4 daughters; Mrs. John Kiger, Lake Creek; Mrs. Rebecca Leach; Mrs. Ruth Sullivan and Mrs. Amey Dorsey of near Silva and 1 son, A.A. (Bud) Ward of near Piedmont. Two daughters of this first marriage preceded the father in death; Mrs. Levi Bishop and Mrs. John Davis.

Raney's second marriage to Julia Lawson, who survives him. To this union were born 2 daughters; Mrs. T.C. Jones of Terre Haute, Indiana and Mrs. Charlie Montgomery, who died in Terre Haute, IN. about 1 year ago. He is also survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. J.M. Wilkinson, Terre Haute, IN. and one brother J.M. Ward of Fredericktown.

Burial was in the Patterson Cemetery
