A case can be made for merging this profile (Waddock-6) and Waddock-1 because a strong case can be made that John Helson, who married Joan in 1658, was actually the son (and hence John Helson, Jr.) of John Helson, Senior. The latter (John, Sr.) is mentioned explicitly as "Senior" in two sources, one involving court testimony on 22 Dec 1670, the other a land transaction on 24 Jan 1672 - thus suggesting two John Helsons, father and son. These two references to John Helson, Senior, are presented in detail in the research note added to the profile for John Elston, who was thought to be the same person as John Helson, Senior, by the author of The Elston Family in America (full source in the Elston-246 profile).
