Abigail Washburn, second daughter of Samuel Washburn Jr., and Abigail Leonard, born in Bridgewater, Massachusetts Colony, on 3 Mar. 1712,^[1] married John Lindsey on 7 Feb. 1734 in Bridgewater,^[2] and they also moved to Stafford, Tolland Co., CT. He was born ca. 1712.^[3] John Lindsey purchased 6 acres of meadow land from his father-in-law, Samuel Washburn, in Stafford, CT, in 1741,^[4] and he was elected as a fence viewer in Stafford in 1740, and 1743, a surveyor of the highways in 1742, and a “lister” in 1749.^[5]

Abigail (Washburn) Lindsey died on 22 Dec. 1769 in Stafford, CT,^[6] and John Lindsey died on 10 July 1775 in Stafford, aged about 63 years.^[7]

John Lindsey and Abigail Washburn had children:

• Abigail Lindsey, born on 27 Nov. 1736 in Stafford, CT, married Ebenezer Cross, son of Jonathan and Lydia (Hall) Cross, of Mansfield, Tolland Co., CT, on 24 Nov. 1757 in Stafford, CT. They lived in Stafford, then moved to Cherry Valley, Otsego Co., NY.

• John Lindsey (Jr.), born on 9 Feb. 1738 in Stafford, CT, died on 6 Feb. 1774 in Stafford or Ashfield, MA, presumably unmarried.

• Asa Lindsey, a son, born on 22 Dec. ca. 1740 in Stafford, CT, died on 14 Jan. 1741 in Stafford.

• Mary Lindsey, born on 1 Feb. 1741 in Stafford, CT, married Abel Cross on 1 Apr. 1762 in Stafford, CT, and they moved to Buckland, Hampshire (now Franklin) Co., MA.

• Eliphalet Lindsey, born on 2 Dec. 1743 in Stafford, CT, married Sarah Cross on 1 June 1769 in Stafford.

• Dorothy Lindsey, born on 30 Aug. 1745 in Stafford, CT, married Roland Blackmer on 15 Nov. 1770 in Stafford, and they also moved to Buckland and Greenfield, Hampshire (now Franklin) Co., MA.
