Francis was born about 1793 in Powhatan, Virginia. He was the son of Edward Watkins and Mary Walthall. He passed away in St. Louis, Missouri in 1839.[1]
DIED: near St. Louis, Missour, whither he had just removed with his family, on the 25th March [1839] Captain Francis Watkins, a native of Powhatan Va., leaving a widow and two children in a strange place and among strangers.[2]
