John was born in 1832 in Prestonkirk East, Lothian. He was the son of James Watt and Anne (Sinclair) Watt.[1]
In 1856 John (age about 24) was employed as a tile maker.[1]
When John was about 24 he married Eizabeth Silcork Cochrane in 1856 in Prestonkirk East, Lothian. The couple had 3 children: James Watt, Agnes Watt and Alexander Watt.[1]
John died at the age of about 86 on 20 November 1918. Note: at age 86[2]
