Mary was born in 1872. She is the daughter of James Webb and Mary Stout.
Research Notes
Mary Ann's birth registration is the only record so far located for her. There is some possibility of confusion between children born to her parents and those of her aunt and uncle who were, respectively, sister and brother to her parents, but as her cousin Charles Webb was born in the same quarter as Mary Ann but in a different district (Charles was born in Warrington, Mary Ann in Prescot), it seems logical that she would have been a child born to James William and Mary Ann.
