Biography

William married Emily Jane Barnett on 25 December 1886 at Bedminster, Somerset, England. [1]

They had their sons William Joseph John in 1887, [2] Frederick Albert in 1889,[3] and Ernest James in 1890.[4]

In 1891 William was recorded as a 31 year old married general labourer at Ambrose Lane, Clifton, Gloucestershire, England. His wife Emily Jane 25 and their sons William Joseph John 3, Frederick Albert 2 and Ernest James 0 were also recorded in the household as was William's sister Lily Webb 27 a single servant.[5]

The couple's son Arthur Thomas was born in 1892, Alfred Herbert in 1898, [6]

In 1901 William was recorded as a 42 year old married coal porter labourer and the head of his household at Woburn Place, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England. His wife Emily 35 and their children William 13, Frederick 12, Ernest 10, Arthur 9, Henry 5, Alfred 3 and Harold 1 were also recorded in the household.[7]
