Franklin Rude Weeden was born on November 28, 1893, in McAfee, Sussex, New Jersey. He was the son of Harry Weeden and Rachel Jane Demouth.
In 1895, Franklin lived with his parents in Phillipsburg, Warren, New Jersey.[1] In 1900 and 1905, he lived with his family in Lopatcong, Warren, New Jersey.[2][3] In 1910, Franklin and the family had relocated to Warwick, Orange, New York, and Franklin was an apprentice boilermaker.[4] In 1915, he lived with his mother and sister and grandmother (his father was not present for the census) in Warwick, Orange, New York, and worked as a boilermaker for the railroad.[5]
Franklin registered for the World War I draft in May 1917 in Union County, New Jersey.[6]
At the age of 24, Franklin married Cordelia Anne Oles on November 29, 1917, in New Jersey, when she was 21.[7] They had three children - Robert Franklin, Elinor, and Franklin R. (Robert Franklin and Franklin R. may be the same person, although both appear in the 1930 Census, the only time Franklin R. is referenced).
In 1920, Franklin and Cordelia and their son lived in Garwood, Union, New Jersey, and Franklin was a boilermaker at an oil refinery.[8] In 1930, the family lived in Warwick, Orange, New York, and Franklin was a building construction inspector.[9]
Franklin died on February 7, 1937, in Paramus, Bergen, New Jersey, at the age of 43.
