Biography
Zella was born in 1914. Zella Welch graduated from Hooker High School in Hooker, Okla. Her family moved to Dalhart, Texas. She married Kenneth Longwell at her paternal grandparents home in Alamogordo, New Mexico, Kenalea and Jim Longwell were their two children. She attended West Texas Teacher's College, in Canyon, Texas, Drury College in Springfield, Missouri and colleges in New Mexico. She taught school in Missouri and New Mexico. She retired from teaching at 70 years of age. She passed away in 2003. [1]
