Biography
John was born in 1833. He was the son of Gradus Welling and Johanna Engelen. He passed away in 1912.
He married Maria Hendrika Jansen in 1857 in Illinois (based on the birthdate and birthplace of their first child).[1] It is believed that they had five children, before Maria’s death.
He then married Euphemia Adelaide Kruse in 1864.[2] The couple apparently had nine children together,[3] as well as raising John’s children from his previous marriage.
