Obituary

WELLS, Walter D. 81, of Springfield passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born January 5, 1935 in West Liberty, Kentucky, the son of the late Arthur and Lula (Weddington) Wells. He was a 60 year member of Greenville Lodge No. 655 AF&AM of Kentucky, and Clark Lodge No. 101 F&AM of Ohio. Walter was also a member of Shawnee Chapter No. 237 R.A.M., Springfield Council No. 17 R&SM, and Palestine Commandery No. 33 Knight Templars of Ohio. He retired from Field & Associates as a superintendent after 50 years of service. Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Phyllis C. (Stacy) Wells; two daughters, Denise (Gary) Kuhn and Stacie (Burton) Stacy; two sons, Gerald (Kim) Wells and Scott (Mary) Wells; several brothers and sisters; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 5-8 pm and Masonic Services will begin at 7:30 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Jeremy Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the Enon Cemetery.
