Solomon Werner was born 4 Aug 1868 in Susannental (Winkelmann), Volga, Russia.[1] His parents were Heinrich Christian Werner and Maria Charlotte Riefer.[2] His parents died at the same time in 1892 due to an epidemic. Solomon could not even attend their funerals due to a bad case of typhoid.[3]
He married Theresa Roth on 12 Jul 1892 in Resanovka, Russia.
They came to America departing Bremen via S.S. Main on 25 May 1905 arriving in Baltimore, Maryland on 8 Jun 1905. His family was bound for Blissfield, Michigan to a friend Johann Kober.[4][5] They came to Fort Collins, Colorado.
His family farmed in Weld County, Colorado and he homesteaded in Briggsdale and later in Grover.[6][7] By 1934, they lived in Greeley.[8][9]
Solomon passed away in 1960 in Greeley and is buried in Beebe Draw Cemetery in La Salle, Colorado.[10]
