Hi Herman, I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! This certification requires participation in a project related to the profiles you wish to edit. I see you are interested in Kentucky and Oklahoma. Why don't you stop by the Kentucky project, (currently led/coordinated by Alison Andrus), and theOklahoma project (currently led/coordinated by Alison Andrus), to see how you can participate? I'll let the leaders know you are newly certified!
Let me know if you need help with anything. We are glad to have you on board!
Thanks for volunteering, Herman! You are now a confirmed member of the WikiTree community.
As you add family profiles, you can use the green tabs near the top of each profile to find out what info will be visible to others - just toggle between private and public views.
If you need help, ask a question in our G2G forum: http://www.wikitree.com/g2g. Most WikiTree members are eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. If you need additional help using WikiTree, our Mentors Project is a great group of volunteers who will be glad to assist you.
Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site youve ever used.
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
When you confirm your email address, youll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.
Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!
Welcome to the family! Were really glad youre here.
Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. Michelle ~ WikiTree Mentor
