HART, Mary (WESTOVER), 1889 _______________________________________________

MRS. MARY HAY [sic].

Mrs. Mary Hart, an aged lady, well and favorably known to most of our citizens, died Monday evening at the residence of Mr. Daniel Stoner, 919 Seventeenth street. The cause of death was heart failure. Deceased was born at Frankstown on the 1st day of March, 1800, and was, consequently, aged 89 years, 1 month and 10 days at the time of her death. Mrs. Hart's maiden name was Mary Westover, and at an early age she married Mr. Ezra Hart, deceased. To this union nine children were born, five of whom are dead. Those who survive are: Mrs. Margaret Stoner, of this city; Mrs. Mains, of Millville; P. S. Hart, of Altoona, and Oliver Hart, of Tonganixio, Kansas. Deceased is also survived by three step children, who are: Mrs. Brubaker, of Altoona; Mrs. George Clapper, of Carson Valley, and Mrs. Ellis Hart, of Duncansville. Five brothers, the oldest of whom is 96 years of age, are also living and are William, Jonathan and Charles Westover, of Clearfield county; Enos Westover, of Frankstown, and Oliver Westover, who resides in the west. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the number of 200. On the death of her husband, which event occurred in 1851, Mrs. Hart came to this city and has resided here since that time. She was a consistent member of the First Lutheran church for about thirty-five years and was prepared for the final dissolution when the summons came.
