Martin was born in 1817. He was the son of Martin Whish and Lucinda Boileau. He passed away in 1865.

He married Emily Jane Ribton Turner 13 August 1856 at St. Mary, Llanfair Is Gaer, Caernarvonshire, Wales.

He died 5 July 1865 in Nynee Tal, Bengal, India, a Major, S. Corps. N.I.
