Biography

John Orson Whitaker was born 28 Feb 1927, at Filmore, Utah.

He served in World War I and was later an Air Force Reserve Officer for 20 years.

He was one of the first LDS Missionaries to Uruguay from 1948 to 1950.

He married Thelma Willis, the Utah State University Delta Phi Queen, 14 Dec 14, 1951. The couple would have eight children.

The family eventually moved to California's San Fernando Valley, where John taught Industrial Arts at Pacoima Jr. High for 37 years.

John served the LDS Church faithfully throughout his life.

John and Thelma celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2001.

He died 14 Dec 2006, at North Hils, California.
