"Tom D. White rites pend
Funeral services are pending at Ballard Funeral Home for Tom D. White, 67, of 700 Kentucky Ave.
Mr. White died this morning in a local hospital."
From the Roswell Daily Record, Roswell, Chaves Co, NM Newspaper - Jan 22, 1976:
"Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday from the First Presbyterian Church of Roswell for Tom D. White, 67, of 700 N. Kentucky Ave., who died Wednesday in St. Mary's Hospital of natural causes.
Following the services, Mr. White's body will be taken to Alburquerque for cremation in the Fairview Cemetery.
Officiating for the rites will be the Rev. James R. Bruening, First Presbyterian Church pastor.
He was born Dec. 14, 1908 in Roswell to Mr. and Mrs. J.P. White Sr., who preceded him in death.
White, a member of a prominent pioneer family of Roswell, was a lifelong resident of the city.
He was graduated from New Mexico Military Institute and attended the University of Missouri and the University of Colorado.
White was actively engaged in farming and ranching interests in Roswell and Chaves County at the time of his death.
He also was a member of the board of benefactors for Pioneer Savings and Trust, the First Presbyterian Church, Roswell Lodge No. 18 AF and Am Santa Fe Scottish Rite Bodies and the New Mexico Wool Growers Association.
White was married June 16, 1931 to Gretchen Smith.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Ted White of Roswell; one daughter, Mrs. William Derrick of El Paso, Tex.; two brothers, J. P. White Jr. of Roswell and George White of Littlefield, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Zoe White McGee of Roswell, and five grandchildren."
