Biography

Samella (White) Hardy is a part of US Black heritage.

Samella White was born in 1932 in Avon Park, Highlands County, Florida, United States. She was the daughter of Seaborn White and Queen Jones.

On the 1935 Florida State Census, Samella, age 2 years, is listed with her parents and siblings in Avon Park.^[1]

On October 1, 1948, Samella White married Ben Toney in Bullock County, Alabama. (Refer to attached certificate.)^[2]

In November of 1964, Samella White married James Hardy in Highlands County, Florida.^[3]

Samella Toney divorced Ben Toney in December 1965 in Highlands County, Florida.^[4]

Samella Hardy passed away February 16, 1983.^[5][6] She is buried in the Lakeside Historical Cemetery in Avon Park. A gravestone marks her burial site.^[7]
