Biography

Andrew Fletcher White is believed to have been born May 19, 1850 in Batesville, Independence County, Arkansas, the son of Isaac and Ruth (Sorrels) White.^[1]

Andrew is enumerated as an infant in the 1850 U.S. Census living on the family farm in Round Pond Township in Independence County, Arkansas with his parents, Isaac and Ruth, and six older siblings.^[2]

The 1860 U.S. Census shows Andrew at 10 years old, his parents, and four siblings living on the farm in Independence County, Arkansas.^[3]

In the 1870 U.S. Census, Andrew is listed at the age of 20 living with his parents and an older sister Louisa on the farm in Independence County, Arkansas.^[4]

Andrew married Florence K. Whitaker. The particulars of this union are yet unknown.

The 1900 Census Lists Andrew at the age of 50, with his wife Florence and six children living on a rented farm in Township 9 N., Range 26 E., Oak Lodge, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory.^[5]

Andrew Fletcher White, Sr. died August 15, 1909 and was buried at the Riverside Cemetery in Byers, Clay County, Texas.^[1]
