Biography

Robert Milton Whitecotton was born May 22, 1865 and is the son of Frank Whitecotton and Sarah Wolfe. He grew up in Holt, Iowa[1][2][3] along with thirteen siblings; Adaline Melissa Whitecotton, Clarissa Jane Whitecotton, John Whitecotton, William P Whitecotton, James Manson Whitecotton, Debra Caroline Whitecotton, Alice May Whitecotton, Mary Day Whitecotton, Noah Fletcher Whitecotton, Frances Laurainee Whitecotton, Myrtle Olive Whitecotton, Royden Whitecotton and Eva Jane Whitecotton.

Robert married Emma Belle Humphrey October 10, 1888[4][5][6] and they made their home in Taylor, Iowa,[7] Washington Township, Iowa,[8] and Alberta, Canada[9][10][11] until her death September 14, 1937.[12] Robert supported his family through farming their home farm and work as an auctioneer. Together they raised five children; Jessie Mae Whitecotton,[13][14][15][16] Mark Whitecotton,[17] Clifford Dewey Whitecotton, Floyd Robert Whitecotton[18][19] and Bessie Faye Whitecotton. He died February 27, 1940[20] and is buried in Vernon Cemetery, Vernon, British Columbia, Canada.[21]
