Elsie Ettie Whitehead was born 14 Nov 1905, in Carter County, Tennessee. She is a daughter of Loyd Whitehead and Hettie Ward.

In 1910, they resided in Carter County, Tennessee. Parents Loyd and Hettie, children Elsie and Hugh. ^[1]

In 1940 the family resided in Ward Hollow, Carter County, Tennessee. ^[2]

She married Walter Bailey, 20 Nov 1926 in Carter County, Tennessee. ^[3] Walter died 14 Mar 1940.

In April 1940, Elsie was living in Ward Hollow, Carter County, Tennessee. With her children Goldie, John, William, Flora, Mary, and Loretta. ^[2]

Elsie passed away 10 Nov 1979, in the Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. She is buried in the Bailey Cemetery, Carter County, Tennessee. ^[4]
