John Whitehead was born in 1800 in United States, son of Thomas Walter Whitehead (~1770–~1860) and Sarah Kirk (1780–1870).
John married Cynthia Sydney Oakes (born in 1815 in Shell Creek, Carter; daughter of Barnabas Oakes and Sarah (Hicks) Oakes). Their known children were:
- Mary Whitehead (~1835–1911)
- Rebecca Whitehead (~1850–1928)
In 1850, John was living in District 2, Carter, Tennessee. [1]
In 1860, John was living in Division 2, Carter. [2]
John died after 1860 in United States, aged about 59.
