Biography

Robert Henry Whiteman was born about 1839 in Somerset, England. His parents were not stated on his marriage certificate^[1] and not known by his brother in law, James Hale, who was the informant on his death certificate.^[2]

He came to Australia about 1841 when he was two years old according to his death certificate.^[2] No record of immigration has yet been found.

Robert Whiteman and Sarah Jane Way married 12 July 1882 at St George's Church of England, Parkes, New South Wales.^[1]

Their first child, also named Robert Henry Whiteman, was born 10 March 1883.

Less than two years later Robert died of pneumonia in Parkes on 16 February 1884.^[2]

Robert and Sarah's second child, Mary Ann Whiteman, was born after his death on 19 August 1884.
