James Redmond Whiting was born on 29 Aug 1836 in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, son of Jacob Bernard Whiting (1808 - 1875) and Susanna Bassett (Couillard) Whiting (1807 - 1898).
James married Ellen Maria Colson (1845 - 1882) Their children were:
James married Emma Crisana Westcot (1852 - 1928) on 7 Jun 1893 in Oconto Twp, Oconto County, Wisconsin.
James died on 24 May 1924 in Oconto Township, Oconto County, Wisconsin aged 87.
