Obituary: Gertrude Whitmeyer Stokes, the wife of Elmer Stokes, of Roberts street , died at her home Saturday morning. Mrs Stokes had been in a critical condition following the birth of a daughter, March 24. The child died Tuesday and the remains of the mother and child were buried in the same grave. The deceased was the daughter of Charles Whitmeyer and had lived all her life in Canastota She was 21 years of age. There are surviving two brothers, Charles and Clarence, of this village, and three sisters.Mrs. William Hurd. Mrs. Fred Moore and Mrs. William Snyder.
