Mary Whittaker was born in 1856 [1] in Warrington, Lancashire, England, [2] the daughter of John Whittaker, a file cutter. [3] [4] and Hannah Baines. [5]
On 29 May 1881, at St Elphin's, Warrington, Lancashire, she married James Mason, a moulder. Witnesses were John Hussy and Ann Crooks. [3] The couple had at least 7 children.
