Samuel Emery Whitten, known familiarly as "Emery", was born on 10 Nov 1834 in Saco, York, Maine.[1] He was the son of Samuel Whitten and Lucinda Ladd.
Emery died of consumption on 29 Nov 1856 in Saco, York, Maine. He was buried in his father's family plot at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco, York, Maine.[2]Saco Town Records indicate that Emery died on 29 Nov 1856 at the age of 22,[3], as does a Nathan Hale Cemetery Transcription,[4] while Find A Grave specifies that it was on 26 Nov 1856.

Research Notes
Due to the Nathan Hale cemetery transcription error, Emery has a double listing on Find A Grave where an erroneous entry was made for "Henry Whitten", son of Samuel and Lucinda Whitten.[6]
