Biography

Jacob Wickerham bought land on the North Side of the Meramec River, in King of France lands in America in 1796. This land was part the acquisition of the territory of Louisiana by the United States from France in 1803. and became part of the State of Missouri, on August 10, 1821. [1]

Jacob Wikerham's Estate was probated in 1823, and several of his children are named. A large collection of documents are available to view on the Missouri Secretary of State website, here: https://s1.sos.mo.gov/records/archives/archivesdb/judicialrecords/Detail.aspx?id=138334
