DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Thomas:
Cornet Thomas Wiggin died at Fort George NY 1776 Apr 26 from smallpox. Source Stratham Town Records. His wife is still showing Sarah Piper. PLEASE CORRECT. And it still says Captain Thomas Wiggin IV here. Sarah Piper married IV and he was not of these parents.
The death date and place shown above is still incorrect. It is Cornet Thomas Wiggin, this man, who died 1776 Apr 26 at Fort George NY from smallpox. The children are correct. Wives still missing but let me post another note with full info on them.
Some of the children shown here - Martha, Mary, Ann, Chase, and Mark, are children of Cornet Thomas Wiggin 1702-1776, son of Bradstreet Wiggin and Ann Chase. The child Sarah here is daughter of Captain Thomas Wiggin 1698-1776 and Sarah Piper. Cornet Thomas Wiggin born Stratham 1702 Mar 15, m1 1728 Mary Veasey 1701-1737 (1 child, Martha), m2 1737 Jun 15 Hampton Falls, Mary Taylor 1703-1776 (4ch Mary, Ann, Chase, and Mark). Parents for Mary Veasey are Ens. George Veasey and Martha Harvey. Parents for Mary Taylor are Capt. Joseph Taylor and Mary Marston. She had m1st Hamptopn 1723 Apr 23 Daniel Weare 1693-1733.
The owner of this profile is following Stearns who messed up the Wiggin lines egregiously. The History of Newfields didn't do any better. The Wiggin Genealogy at the New Hampshire Historical Society Library has correct information. We also have a copy at the Stratham Historical Society. He is Thomas IV because his line goes Thomas III, Thomas II, Capt Thomas. See Thomas-495 who is his father. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Wiggin-495
Thomas III md before 1685 Sarah Unknown (1668-1758) who m2 1730 James Palmer (1667-1740).
There is incorrect info here. The Thomas Wiggin who is brother of these people and father of these children is Cornet Thomas Wiggin, born Stratham Mar 15, 1701-02, m(1) Mary Veasey 1701-1737 [mother of Martha 1729-1812], m(2) Mary Taylor 1703-1776 [mother of Mary 1739-1814, Anna 1743-1809, Chase 1744-1744, Colonel Mark 1745-1821], and he died in the Army of smallpox at Fort George NY 1776 Apr 26. He is not Thomas IV who md Sarah Piper. See Wiggin Genealogy for his wives and Lane Diary for his death.
