Eliphalet Burbank Wight was born on August 17, 1846, in Gorham, New Hampshire, the son of Ephraim Wight and Priscilla Savory Burbank.[1] He was said to have studied in Gorham schools.
Eliphalet, or "E. B." as he was commonly known, was a shoemaker. He resided in Natick, Massachusetts from 1877-1878; Auburn, Maine from 1878-1883; and finally Lynn, Massachusetts, where he and his family lived for many years.[2]
His first wife was Hattie A. Lander, whom he married on February 12, 1870, in Auburn, Maine. They had two children who died in infancy. Hattie died on January 19, 1877. His second wife was Abbie Beatrice Pinkham, whom he married on December 15, 1877, in Natick, Massachusetts. They had two children, Eva Helen and Leroy Pinkham Wight.[3][2]
He died on November 13, 1908, in Revere, Massachusetts.[4] His obituary appeared in the Daily Evening Item, published in Lynn, Massachusetts.[5] He is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn, Massachusetts.[6]
