Jean Wightman was born in 1806 in Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, daughter of Alexander Wightman (~1762–<1855) and Jean Bell (~1775–1855).[1]
Jane married William Lorimer (born in August, 1807 in Kirkconnell, Dumfriesshire; son of William Lorimer).[2] Their children were:
- Robert Lorimer (~1830– )
- William Lorimer (1832–<1841)
- Elizabeth Wallace Lorimer (1834–1898)
- Alexander Lorimer (1836– )
- Janet Lorimer (1839– )
- John Lorimer (1845–1912)

In 1841, Jane (34) was living in Auchen Sow, Sanquhar with her husband, William (30); their children, Robert (10), Jean (8), Elisabeth (7), Alexander (5), Janet (3), William (0), John Graham (17), and Robert Corrie (12); and Helen Kennedy (18), and Agness Brown (15). [3]
Jane died before 1851 in Sanquhar, aged about 44.
