Clyde Wilhoite West Welch, 89, of East Main Street in Wilmore, died Saturday, Sept. 8, at Central Baptist Hospital.

A homemaker, farmer and mother, she was born March 20, 1917, to the late Russell and Rosie Weber Wilhoite. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 345 in Lincoln County and Wilmore Christian Church. She is survived by five children and their spouses, Marvin and Brenda West of Wilmore, Leon West of Wilmore, Marion Fay West and Thomas C. Welch of Nicholasville, Billie Katherine West McGrann of Stanford, Gloria Welch and Jerry McConathy of Nicholasville; one brother , Benny Wilhoite of Wilmore; one sister, Margaret Pelfrey of Ohio; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and other family members. She was preceded in death by three children, Betty Jo West, Edna West Tuggle and Allen West; three husbands, Clarence Allen West, Will J. West and Lester Welch; four brothers and three sisters.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Brother Leonard Fitch and Brother Ron Riley officiating. Burial followed at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Bearers were Allen "Doodle" Peel, Shawn Stacy, Mike Corman, Michael McGrann, Danny Fielder and Jeff Welch.

Honorary Bearers were Marvin and Luke Welch, Travis McConathy, James West, George McGrann, Thomas and Donnie Welch and Jimmy Taylor.
