Biography

Rhoda (Williams) Finch is a part of US Black heritage.

Rhoda Williams was born in Kentucky. In 1870 she was said to be 22 years old. In 1880 she was said to be 27 years old. According to the 1880 census her father was from Virginia and her mother from Kentucky.^[1]

She married Alexander Finch on 30 December 1867 at Humphry Williams' residence in Todd County, Tennessee.^[2][3]

In 1870 she was living in Fairview, Kentucky with her husband and daughter Olie.^[4] They wer still living in Fairview in 1880, with their 4 children.^[1]

The family later moved to Kansas. According to the 1900 census they probably moved about 1885. The youngest child was born about 1892, in Kansas.^[5]

Rhoda died in 1899 and was buried in Gypsum Hill Cemetery in Salina.^[6]
