Biography

Mary Ann Willington was baptised on 18 July 1779 at St. Michael and All Angels in Tettenhall, Staffordshire.[1] She was the daughter of John Willington and Elizabeth Parkes.

Marriage of John Taylor and Mary Ann Willington.

Mary Ann (of Bilston in the parish of Wolverhampton, spinster) married John Taylor (of parish, bachelor) on 20 September 1807 at St. Philip in Birmingham, Warwickshire, by licence.[2] The witnesses were Sarah Willington ~ and Wm Morris ~. The licence had been purchased on 16 September and gave John's occupation as auctioneer, the bondsman being Wm Morris of St. Philip, Birmingham, also an auctioneer (image).

The will of Mary Ann's father shows that she had a daughter called Elizabeth Taylor.

Mentions of Mary in Family Wills

Mary was given £100 in the will of her grandfather, John Parkes.[3] She was also named as a 'second cousin' in the will of Sarah Caddick nee Parkes.[4] Mary was named in the will of her aunt, Mary Parkes, as Mary Taylor.[5] Her father's will noted that Mary had a daughter called Elizabeth Taylor.[6]
