In 1875, Jemima, known at the time as Mary Henniker was living at Gawler, whose husband Thomas Henniker had died in 1867 was destitute. The Mudla Wirra Council approved of a continuation of rations for Mary, and two other women of the district.[3]
Jemima, often known as Mary, died on 29 Dec 1880 at Gawler, South Australia qt3 73 years. She was a widow at the time of her death.[4]
Jemima Back was christened by the name Jemima, and was married under that name. However it appears that in South Australia she preferred to be called Mary as except for one or 2 of her children's births, she was known as Mary. -Heneker-11.
