Biography
Moses was born about 1788. He was the son of Thomas Wilson and Mary Adams. He passed away about 1850.
“Moses came to Kentucky before 1823.
He united with the Pleasant Point Baptist Church in 1832 by letter.
There seems to be some controversy as to whom he married, some have thought he
married 1st Ann Stephens, d/o Wm. Stephens, Sr. and she died after one
child was born to them, a daughter also named Ann or Anna, and then married
Elizabeth Hopper.
Wilson (1982) believes that Moses uncle, Moses Wilson, b. ca. 1777 was the one who married the Stephens girl and also Elizabeth Hopper.
He also states that there is a record by Wm. Smith, who was a brother-in-law to the elder Moses that Moses Wilson came with him from Virginia to Ky. in 1805 and was 28 years of age at that time. This agrees with the age of the uncle, b. 1777. This younger Moses b. 1788, had at least 6 children that we have records of. -- (Wilson 1982, p. 9.).” [1]
