The marriage was registered on 17th September at Glasgow. Witnesses were John Saunders and John Sattie.

When the census was taken on Sunday, 2nd April 1871When the 1871 Census was taken Jane, attending school, is living with grandparents Joseph Wilson( aged 52), a baker (foreman) and Christina Wilson( aged 42). Other relatives of Jane living in the household are:

• uncle Joseph C Wilson( aged 16), a brush maker
