Biography

John Wilson, the son of John Wilson and Mary Mercer, married Fannie Safronia Houck in 1816 in Burke Co., NC. Fannie was the daughter of George Henry Houck and Rebecca Holloway of Burke Co., NC. John and Fannie reared ten children on their plantation in Burke Co. Children and spouses are listed:

John wrote his will December 11, 1871. He named all of his children and told who his daughters married. His son-in-law, William Icard, was the executor of the will. Descendants say that John and Fannie are buried at Friendship Methodist Church Cemetery, but their graves are not marked.
