Eliza was born about 1843.^[1]

Eliza married 1st to Edmond Rouvert on March 26, 1857 in Thibodeaux, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. ^{[2] [3]} Eliza and Edmond can be found on the 1860 Ward 4, Raceland, Lafourche, Louisiana Census listed as Lisa Roobert, age 17, and Edmond Roobert, age 27. Eliza's mother, Marceline, lives on one side of them with her second husband, Hirum Killingsworth, and their combined children.^[4] The family on the other side is Moise Guidry, his first wife Henriette and their children. (This is significant because Moise will become her second husband)
