Biography

Sarah (Wisner) Eastman was born in 1777 in Orange County, New York, United States, the daughter of John and Sarah (Hall) Wisner, Jr.

She was mentioned in the Revolutionary War Pension record of Clarissa Wisner.^[1]

Sarah married Peter Eastman (~1776 - ~1858). and they had the following known children:

1. John Wisner Eastman (1797–1872)
2. Daniel Ward Eastman (1800–1888)
3. James Thompson Eastman (1805–1848)
4. Moses Wisner Eastman (1812–1886)

She was enumerated with Peter in the household of their son Moses in the 1850 U.S. Federal Census in Milo, Yates, New York. ^[2]

Sarah died in 1862 aged ~84 and was buried at Rock Creek Cemetery, Rockaway, Seneca, Ohio.^[3][4]

Research Notes

Study of John Wisner started with Sarah (Wisner) Eastman (1777 - 1862)^[5]. Based on dates and the Voss Letter,^[6] this Sarah does not appear to be the daughter of this John Wisner contrary to her Find A Grave listing. Now we just have to find the corrrect John Wisner.
