In 1915, Katherine sailed to China as a nurse missionary.
In 1917, Katharine married William Adoph in Hainan, China. They had at least two children.

Mrs. William H. Adolph
Mrs. Katharine Adolph, widow of William H. Adolph and a resident of the Friends Fellowship Community for eight years, died Tuesday night. Before coming to Richmond, she lived in Philadelphia, Pa.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James Cope, Centerville, and Mrs. Dorothy Scirocco, Denver, Colo.; two sons, William Adolph Jr., Scarsdale, N.Y., and Ernest Adolph of Utica, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Minnie Witmer, Duarte, Calif., and Miss Lydia Witmer, Mount Joy, Pa. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia.
Jones & Placke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held later. There will be no calling.
