Martha (Wolfenbarger) Rose lived in Appalachia, in Kentucky.
Martha was born in 1907. Family trees give her mother's name as Esther Martha Saylor; but when Martha remarried in 1939 she listed her parents on the marriage certificate as Esther Lawson and Joseph Wolfenbarger.
Perhaps she viewed her stepmother as her own mother, but more research on this is needed.
In 1910, her family was living in Estill Co., Kentucky. [1]
Martha and Algin Rose were married in 1922, in Winchester, Clark County, Kentucky.[2] Martha was just 15 years old.
In 1930, they were living in Indianapolis, Indiana. Algin has a job as a mail handler at Union Station.[3]
Children listed here are Roberta, Paul, Silas, and Joseph. Also living in the house are Algin's brother Melvin and his wife, Ocie.
Algin and Martha divorced, and in 1939 she married Porter Douglas. [4]
