Herman was born in 1894. He was the son of John Allen Wood and Donna I. Jones. He passed away in 1976.

MOUNT PULASKl—Herman C. Wood, 82, a retired carpenter, died at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday at his residence.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Fricke Funeral Home. Burial will be in Steinbergen[sic] Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday.
He was born June 19, 1894, in Mount Pulaksi[sic], a son of John A. and Donna I. Jones Wood. He married Mildred M. Bicknell Dec. 22. 1926. She survives.
Also surviving are a son. John H., Salem, Ore.; two daughters. Mrs. Jo Ann Rodgers, Decatur, and and Mrs. Shirley Warnick, Loveland, Colo.; nine grandchildren. and four great-grandchildren.
A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Modern Woodmen of America.
