Research Notes

The profile is centered on the Sarah Ann Woods who married John Ambler Wilson.
From their marriage records, we know that she is from Halifax, was over 18 (before 1833), and her father's name was William. From 1861, 1881, and 1901 census records we see an imputed birth date of 1829. For 1871 and 1891, the imputed year is 1830. From her death record, we see the imputed birth year is 1829.
There are two girls born in Halifax around that time frame with the name 'Sarah Ann Woods' and a father named 'William.' The one baptized in 1829 is assumed to be the correct one but the other is being noted here for completeness. The other Sarah was baptized in 1831.[10][11] Both of these girls also had mothers named Sarah.
There is an 1851 census for 'Sarah A Wood' with the age more closely matching the younger one born 1831.[12] In any case, we cannot be certain that it applies to the one or other girl or possibly to a third 'Sarah A Wood.'
With the coincidence of the given names of the parents of both girls being 'William' and 'Sarah,' the idea presents itself that it could have been the same couple with the first Sarah being deceased before the birth of the second Sarah. If so, no death records have been found to support the idea as of the date of this writing. Anderson-23510 20:45, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
