Gertrude Marie Woodbury is the daughter of Isaac and Emma Woodbury. She was born in Newton MA in 1875. In April of 1897 a newspaper accounts Miss Gertrude Marie Woodbury performed in a three act comedy "Too Many Strings to the Bow". written by her future husband Walter G. Dowling. In the second act Gertrude played the music to a song with words by Walter Dowling called " Is it Proper". Gertrude married Walter G. Dowling in 1899 in Allston MA. They moved to Denver Colorado, and had two children. Gertrude died in 1902 of tuberculosis. She was 26 years old.
