Biography

Cornelius was born in 1803. He is the son of Leonard Worden and Amy Montross. He passed away in 1860. [1]

Source 1: Through info I obtained online at Ancestry, Cornelius was born around 1804 in Hyde Park, New York; joined the army on September 11, 1829 in Albany, NY and was discharged on a surgeon's certificate on April 30, 1832 at Fort Mitchell, Alabama. He remained in Alabama after his discharge. Through research at different libraries I learned that Cornelius married Gilly Ann Wiggins in Chambers County, AL on Feb. 12, 1835. He died in Tallapoosa County, AL in Oct. 1860 of typhoid.

The children of Cornelius and Gilly Ann Worden are Amy E.; Mary Abigail; Washington C.; and Gilly Ann.

This is my husband's family and I have been researching them off and on for about 10 yrs with no luck of finding Cornelius's parents. My husband descends from Washington C. Worden b. Mar. 29, 1842; Cornelius Worden b. Nov. 9, 1873; Leonard Worden b. Oct. 10, 1903; and Arnold Warden Feb. 18, 1928.
