Joseph was born on 24 Oct 1705 in Northampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts to Joseph and Ruth Wright.^[1]

Marriage and children

Amherst genealogical records document the marriage of a Joseph Wright to Experience Church (abt.1714-), although the date and place of marriage are not specified. ^[2] Lucius Boltwood's 1862 Genealogies of Hadley Families^[3] states that the marriage took place on 14 June 1733. A marriage in 1733 is consistent with the date of birth of their first known child. Some possible locations for the marriage include Northampton (where the couple's children were recorded as being born), Amherst (where the marriage is noted in the genealogical records) and Hadley (where Joseph was recorded as later living). These three towns all lie within 8 miles of each other.
